TeamSnap Alternative

The Whole League, Not Just Your Team

TeamSnap is best known as a team app. LeagueHero is the software the league itself runs on — registration, payments, scheduling, standings and a public site, free to start. Here is the honest comparison, including the rows we lose.

Straight answer

Where TeamSnap Is the Right Call

TeamSnap built its name on the team: one roster, one group thread, who is in for Saturday. If that is the whole job — a coach keeping a squad organized on a phone — it does that job well, and it does it where the parents already are. LeagueHero starts a level up, at the organization that owns the season: it sets the fees, takes the registrations, publishes the schedule and keeps the table. If the question you answer every week is "when do we play, and who is top of the division", this is the software for that question.

Money

What It Costs

LeagueHero

  • Free forever: 1 league · 2 seasons · 12 teams, with every feature turned on.
  • A platform fee on registration payments — 4% Free · 2% Pro · 0% Enterprise. Stripe's own processing fees apply on top, as they would anywhere.
  • Paid plans are self-serve from your admin console — no quote, no call.
  • Payments settle into your own Stripe account, not into ours.

TeamSnap

  • We do not publish another company's prices. They change, and a stale number on our site would be worse than no number at all.
  • What is fair to say in general: products in this category are priced per team or per organization, and league-sized packages are often quoted rather than listed.
  • So ask any vendor — us included — for all three numbers: the subscription, the fee on each registration, and what payment processing costs. Then put them side by side.

Every LeagueHero number above is on the pricing page, where the plans themselves are listed.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move a league over mid-season?

You can, though the clean moment is between seasons. There is no bulk roster import yet — you create the league, open registration, and players sign themselves up. That costs you an evening of reminders, and it hands you current contact details and freshly signed waivers instead of last year's.

Do players have to download an app?

No. LeagueHero is a website built for a phone: players open a link to RSVP, read the team chat, check the schedule and look at the table. Nothing to install and nothing to update, so nobody misses a game because they never got round to it.

Is the free plan really free?

It is a plan, not a trial. The limits in the table above are the whole catch — every feature is available inside them, with no card and no expiry. Paid plans exist for organizations running more at once, and they lower the platform fee.

What if I only run one team?

Then you may not need this. LeagueHero is built for the person running the competition — the fees, the schedule, the standings, the public site. If you are a coach with a single roster, a team app is the lighter tool for that job.
